Although the bowls are absolutely practical and large as promised, I was once greatly dissatisfied in the quality of the bowls. The lids and backsides of the bowls are both so closely laquered they really feel like plastic or they're plastic, and the aspects of the bowls are rough as if they don't appear to be polished at all. The joints within the bamboo are also tough and evident and lacking in craftsmanship in my view. I've considered bamboo salad bowls made with better care and quaility, and my bamboo goban is superb, so I can not think the fabric is the problem. I purchased these bowls as a result of they're bamboo and large enough to hold my new Jitsuyo grade dimension 35 stones, however I am critically considering returning them and getting someting higher high quality for my new stones.

These bowls appear even better than the photos. they look and really feel like very top of the range go stone bowls and completely price the associated fee.
